Remembrance
The children took time out this week to remember our war heroes. We all observed the 2 minutes silence in school in our bubbles but together and time was spent discussing the meaning and importance of Poppy Day and the sacrifices that were made during the war. This was followed later in the week by a virtual assembly by Red Dr Hannah Cleugh.
What we are experiencing now has been described as a war and we are in a different way making sacrifices to defeat it. I wonder, when our Reception children are in Year 6, and Year 6 children have either left school or gone on to University, what they will remember of this time, this war.
