We are really pleased to be able to welcome everyone back! School is even more different now than we could ever have imagined!

After the fire on 31st July, the Local Authority leapt into action to demolish the damaged buildings and erect mobile classrooms for Year 1, Year 2, Reception, Pre-school and DX. We are currently waiting for new furniture and the installation of the whiteboards – hence the slight delay to our youngest children returning to school.

Although we are all saddened by our loss, we are now very excited about what the future holds for our school and we are hopeful that, with everyone working together, the planning for a replacement building won’t be too far away. Most importantly everyone is well and everyone is safe. We cannot wait to start this new year together attentive, imaginative and motivated ready to learn once more in our spiritual Duxford School community- where we belong.

We have worked very closely with the local authority health and safety advisor and are confident that measures regarding the safety of the site and COVID 19 have being met. We will, as we have done throughout the pandemic, be guided by government guidelines and make changes accordingly.

It has been wonderful to hear the happy chatter of children back in their classrooms after such a prolonged period of being away from school. This term will have many challenges but, with the hard work of our dedicated staff team and the amazing support from our families and from the wider community, we will continue to provide a safe and stimulating environment for our children.
